As we move into the second to last week of the season, here are a few important updates:
Let's finish the season strong—go Mid-Pen!
12U Team
Coach Adam
Game 1: Mid-Pen vs. Stanford
1-8 loss against Stanford girls; they were a much bigger team.
Game 2: Mid-Pen vs. West Valley
12-4 win against West Valley. The boys played strong and hard. It started off a little shaky but locked in and won. We shot a lot of 5 meters, repossessed the ball immediately, and scored each one. Everyone came through with only one sub.

14u won both games, and despite low attendance, Rafi said Marine could play for West Valley. Since they had a high player count, they asked if they could get some game time playing with us. I said yes since we only had one sub.
Game 1: Mid-Pen vs. Foundation
Win 9-5: We played well, with good passes and movement. Two Marine players were with us, giving us a total of three subs. All players got enough break time to play through lots of good shots, too.
Game 2: Mid-Pen vs. Lamo Brent
Win 9-5 or 10-6 (scorekeepers messed up on a point, and I was unable to correct them). We had 5 players from Marine with us, giving us a total of 5 field subs and one goalie sub. This was a more formidable team; although they had a strong offense, we kept a strong defense.
Brody was the MVP. He blocked many strong shots and made good long passes. He also took a full-court shot and scored.
Both games involved good communication with the Marine team and helping them out, so I'm very proud of the boys' work together.
16U Team
Coach Steven
Game 1: 7-5 Win vs. West Valley
The first game was a tough defensive battle. The early start and few subs meant it took a while to pick up the intensity. Some early hiccups kept the game close, but our boys kept their poise and took control of it late.
Matteo Chocano led the team in scoring with four goals, while Sam Stallings and Cole Richards also added some offense. It was the defense that won the game, though, as our team's zone defense forced multiple missed shots and resulted in many steals.
Game 2: 12-6 Win vs. West Valley
We combined the blue and white teams and played West Valley again. The second game featured much more scoring, as we could attack the defense early. We established control early, which allowed us to lean on our defense for most of the game.
The boys were exhausted but stayed focused and got the job done.
18U Team
Coach Steven
Game 1: 15-6 Win vs. Lamo Brentwood
The boys faced the daunting task of playing back-to-back games with no subs. However, after the first quarter, we quickly established a 5-1 lead and continued dominating.
Strong press defense kept our opponents off balance, while clean ball movement kept our offense rolling. New team addition Theodore Kratter scored numerous goals from the center. At the same time, Vaughn Freiermuth and Drew Ostrander added multiple goals from outside shots.
Game 2: 19-4 Win vs. 680
After a short break, the boys rallied to establish another dominant 6-1 lead after the first quarter. Despite the physical demands, everyone contributed on both offense and defense, with intense press defense and fast-drive offense. Our two goalies even got into the action, as Calvin Pfeffer and Arman Azadpour split time in the cage and on the field. Both made key defensive plays and assisted on goals, and Calvin even managed to score.
Overall, it was a fun day with plenty of teamwork, resulting in two confident wins.
